Some guy (and by guy I mean kid) in a Subaru Impreza Wagon, peeled out of in intersection in front of my bike earlier this morning. I've never been one to give "the finger" as I find that it often does far more harm than good, but this guy automatically got a nice long direct eye contact middle finger a few inches from his driver side window. Guess I learned something new about myself today.

I'm always scared when BMW drivers are around me when I'm biking. Subaru drivers are usually nice and all happy that someone is riding a bike.

I meant motorcycle, they don't like motorcyclists :(

Oh. Yeah, motorcyclists have it tough. My uncle used to have a few motorcycles (I know one was a Honda Shadow). Now he has a dodge pickup. He got a new job which required the utility of a pick up. What kind of bike do you have?

Hey, I drive a Subaru and I like Motorcycles and motorcyclists. Don't put all of us in that group.

I end up having to give the stare down at least once a week, as a pedestrian that walks in downtown SF a lot. Hello SF cops: please write more running the light/block the box tickets - especially to people on push bikes.

I try to stay away from the finger. But I'm sure to get next to them, make long eye contact so they can see the scorn in my eyes. Then I shake my head in discontent.

Very nice. I like sport bikes, but not Harely's. It's just the overall stigma over Harley drivers. Sort of like the corvette has its stereotype. The aero is unique. Looks like a fun little thing to dart around town in.

I drive a Subaru as well (sort of), sorry I was being semi-sarcastic. Though, I always see WRX/STI bros (to clarify, not all wrx/sti owners are "bros")getting all butthurt whenever the topic bike vs car performance comes up.

Exactly, it's the onlt vehicle I've ever driven that can go 10/10ths 100% of the time. And (by and large) Harley riders have always kind of seemed like the ricers of the motorcycling world to me.

Like I said, I'm not really one for it either, but it was up there before I even knew what was happening.

My dad has a Harley, there's almost no mods on it beside maybe a horn cover and some Harley badges.

I drive my moms Impreza and I'm sure to give bikes room when I'm driving and I don't bother them.

Not all Harley riders, just like not all civic drivers are ricers. But there does seem to be a much higher percentage of questionable mods on Harleys than other bikes

I know, it sucks too because they're really good bikes. We had screamin eagle pipes on one of them. I guess they were "too loud".

Favorited for the retaliation. Not the near miss, I always hate when I see people disrespect bikers on the road. I suspect I will hate it even more once I have my own

and super jelly of your CBR, especially that color scheme. I would go that or the repsol.
Also I would probably only go 600rr cause I'm like 120 pounds. Don't know if you can get the red and black in 600 though... I've still got a while till I could even consider one anyways. Still gotta get my license and a 250 to learn on

the last time i gave someone the finger it was a truck driver on the highway who had just emptied his cup of ice onto my windshield. There was a 2 minute horn and when i got in front of him, just in case he couldn't see the finger out the side window I gave him a second chance to observe through the sunroof

The 1000s are MENTAL! 0-100 in 5.3 seconds, let that sink in... Definitely start on a smaller bike and work your way up.
Also I'm pretty sure the 600 was red or black but not both.

yeahh like I said, planning on buying a 250 or 300 to spend a good while on learning.
Then upgrading to a 600rr once I get my bearings. The 1000 maybe eventually, I've always toyed around with the idea of going to a track with it, but 1000 might be too much bike for me... I'm 5'11, 21 and cracked 125lbs for the first time in my life a month ago lol
